My BFF is moving out of state tomorrow. I have lots of best friends (I know that isn't possible, but I do.) But Heather is amazing! She has held me together through some serious challenges over the last 2 years. I truly shudder to think about where I would be without her. And I am so sad to see her go. She isn't even on facebook. *crying*
Tonight, we went to a movie with our kids and afterwards we took pictures in a photo booth. The laughter and memory of the experience was awesome and having that little keepsake meant so much. As I looked at the pictures from tonight, I realized that even though the pictures are horrible, it reminded me that fun and a good memory are usually more important to me than the quality of the shot.
This sums up my entire photographer philosophy. Seriously. That's it. 1. Have fun. 2.Connect to each other with love and laughter. 3. Make some good pictures and 4. enjoy them - putting them right where you will see them every day!
Sometimes you need a more formal portrait and one that makes you look your best. But make sure that you don't lose that element of fun and connection.
So Heather, I will miss you terribly, but I have our memories and a plenty of pictures to keep those memories fresh!
Here's a snap shot of my BFF, another bestie and me. A terrible picture. But a great memory. I keep it on my desk.
