The week before thanksgiving, we held a fundraiser with a local private school. It was so much fun to bring my studio to their school for two evenings and meet some amazing families. My favorite part about working with schools is the extra time I can spend with the children to get those amazing smiles and those soulful eyes looking right into you. I can't get enough of it!
I met great people and fell in love with some darling children. Though it was right before Thanksgiving and everyone was busy, we were able to meet in their beautiful building in the evening. The older building doesn't have an elevator and we were on the second foor, so the gear was a challenge to get up the stairs. But, I LOVE taking pictures occasionally with controlled lighting and connecting with the people instead of worrying about the light changing or shadows on faces. (Of course, I LOVE the challenge of that, too, but not in the late fall at night!)
Here are a few pictures of the families who let me share their pictures. Can you see why I liked them so much and had such a great time? Spunky personalities, shy sweetness, silliness, close families, precious babies. It was a great mix and I loved it all!
This was just a moment between pictures that captured the fun we had. I love real emotions more than pasted on smiles. This picture stole my heart!
And one more for now:
