Poetry and portraits.

(Yes, I really named this post "Poetry and Portraits", as cheesy as it is.)

This is my niece.

She is a talented performing artist and poet.   When she visited me this month, we had a good time remembering childhood experiences- well, I did and she put up with me.  All these year's later, she isn't the little girl I took to the zoo at age 3 who was more excted about the insects than the elephants.

She still has her own way of seeing the world.  I tried to capture that in her portraits.  It's pretty challenging because these still waters run deep.  So, we tried out different lighting and posing.   In the end, I didn't even get the tip of the iceberg, but I think we put together some great shots!

Thanks for visiting and you are welcome back any time!

and two of my favorites:

You can see some of her poetry and musings about poetry at
